What is Fulfillment center?

Short definition
A fulfillment center is a warehouse built specifically to receive, store, pick, pack, and ship customer orders — optimized for fast outbound order flow rather than long-term storage.
DefinedTermCanonical definition · EasyBay glossary

A fulfillment center differs from a plain warehouse in purpose: a warehouse mainly stores goods, while a fulfillment center is laid out to move individual orders out the door quickly. Many are operated by 3PLs that fulfill on behalf of multiple brands.

A brand can also run its own fulfillment center out of a small footprint — a single co-warehouse suite where the team picks, packs, and ships using shared docks and equipment. That keeps fulfillment in-house without the cost of leasing and outfitting a dedicated building.

EasyBay rents flexible co-warehousing suites by the month — see sizes & pricing or book a tour.
